2009 mazda mx-5

The Mazda MX-5, known as the Miata  before its redesign in 2005, has been updated with a new look for 2009. Mazda has not released any information on the '09 model, only a single photo, but the cosmetic work is obvious. The 2009 features an updated front fascia with sleeker, pulled-back headlights and a much larger radiator opening. Mazda removed some clutter up front by moving the side-marker lights from the front bumper to the sides of the car. The automaker has also added some new leaf-shaped openings in the front fascia around the foglights to make them stand out more than on the previous car, where they simply poked out of the nose. Below, the front spoiler has been pulled out and has a more aggressive look. Also revealed are new wheels and slightly restyled side mirrors. Mazda refers to the car as merely an update, so it's unlikely any major mechanical changes have been made, meaning that the car will most likely retain its 2.0L inline-four that produces 166 hp and 144 lb-ft mated to either a five- or six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
