2009 bmw 7 series

The latest iteration of BMW's flagship sedan features a new look all the way around, including a fresh nose reminiscent of the 6 Series and a reworked rear end similar to that of the freshened 3 Series. In the U.S., the redesigned 7 Series will come only with BMW's new 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 that made its debut in the X6. Rated at 400 hp and 450 lb-ft, this V-8 at the same time replaces the both the V-8 and V-12 in the outgoing model, though BMW says the latter will continue to be offered in some Asian markets. In Europe, BMW will offer the 7 Series with its now-famous twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six bumped to 326 hp and 332 lb-ft for duty in the large sedan as well as its new 3.0-liter twin-turbo diesel, which has an output of 245 hp and 398 lb-ft .
A six-speed automatic transmission is expected at launch, with a ZF-developed eight-speed automatic following shortly thereafter. The car will also feature the new Dynamic Driving Control system that allows the driver to fine-tune suspension and chassis settings to their own preferences and Integral Active Steering, which allows the rear wheels to turn up to three degrees in either direction. Inside, BMW has redesigned the iDrive system and added more buttons for specific functions, as well as eight programmable "favorite" buttons for any function you choose and the system is now mostly voice activated
